Spiritual Poverty
Spiritual poverty exists where people lack meaning and purpose in their lives. The presence or ability to make meaning of one’s life and circumstances has been found to be an important factor in personal resilience. For many people, adherence to a faith tradition provides such meaning and purpose. As an institution grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition, the Canadian Poverty Institute works to advance the understanding of poverty within that tradition.
